BMW M TEAM WRT ADDS A NEW TITLE AS IT CLOSES OUT A HISTORIC STRETCH WITH TWO SEASON FINALES

BMW M Team WRT rounded off the first weekend of October with one more title, securing the GT World
Challenge Europe Sprint Cup Overall Teams’ crown in Barcelona. Racing on both sides of the Atlantic, the Belgian
team celebrated second place for the #24 BMW M Hybrid V8 at Road Atlanta. There was also recognition for
WRT’s mechanics, who won the GT World Challenge Europe Pit Stop Challenge - a competition between the
championship’s teams rewarding their performance in the pit lane - for the tenth time in 13 editions.

IMSA FINALE — PETIT LE MANS, ROAD ATLANTA

The team’s IMSA crew closed out its debut GTP season in style with a podium finish at Petit Le Mans, the 10-hour
endurance race at Road Atlanta. Starting from P3, Dries Vanthoor, Sheldon van der Linde and Robin Frijns kept the #24
BMW M Hybrid V8 among the front-runners throughout the race. In the closing stages, van der Linde went head-to-head
with Laurens Vanthoor in the Porsche for the win but could not quite find a way past. The #25 of Philipp Eng, Marco
Wittmann and Kevin Magnussen, also showed strong pace but was forced to retire following an accident, with Magnussen
emerging unharmed.

The result capped off a remarkable debut IMSA season for BMW M Team WRT, featuring a maiden win in Indianapolis,
two second-place finishes at Road Atlanta and Detroit, two further podiums at Daytona and Laguna Seca.

GT WORLD CHALLENGE EUROPE - SPRINT CUP FINALE, BARCELONA

In Barcelona, Matisse Lismont and Ignacio Montenegro arrived with all six Silver Cup titles already secured for the #30.
The Overall Teams’ and Drivers’ crowns remained at stake for WRT and its #32 and #46 crews.

Difficult qualifying left the #31, #32 and #46 starting P41, P28 and P39 overall, with the #30 seventh in class in the first
race of the weekend. Rain forced a late switch to wet tyres, before worsening conditions and widespread aquaplaning
triggered a red flag during the pit window. Charles Weerts also sustained damage following contact. The stoppage erased
the gains made through excellent pit stops, as the classification was rolled back to before the pit window, but allowed
repairs. The Pro cars recovered to P10, P11 and P16. A late spin ended the #30’s podium hopes, while a pit lane speeding
penalty dropped it from P7 to P8 in class.

Severe weather prompted a government ban on outdoor activity until 14:00 on Sunday, cancelling morning qualifying.
Race 2’s grid was therefore based on the second drivers’ best laps in Friday’s Free Practice 2, placing the #46, #31, #32
and #30 in P15, P22, P30 and P35 respectively. Kelvin van der Linde rapidly gained 15 places from P30. A swift pit stop
and Charles Weerts’ final charge brought the #32 home sixth, securing WRT the Sprint Cup Overall Teams’ title. The #31
also recovered strongly to eighth. An excellent start from Max Hesse and another strong pit stop put the #46 in
contention for points, before a door issue forced Valentino Rossi back into the pits. The #30 endured another difficult
race, but the weekend could not overshadow the exceptional title-winning season of Lismont, Montenegro and their
crew.

LOOKING AHEAD

This weekend marked the end of a demanding run of eight races in six weeks, as well as the conclusion of both the IMSA
season and the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup. Two championships remain to be decided: the GT World
Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, with its season finale in Portimão on 17 October, and the FIA World Endurance
Championship, whose penultimate round in Barcelona will see the WEC crew back in action that same weekend.
