René Rast

Born on October 26, 1986, in Germany, René Rast is a three-time DTM champion and a BMW M Works driver. He joined Team WRT several years ago and, since 2024, has been a key figure in the team’s LMDh program in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Rast claimed victory at the 2014 24 Hours of Spa with Team WRT, Laurens Vanthoor and Markus Winkelhock, racing with the Audi R8 LMS GT3 at the time. He has also competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times with WRT, once in LMP2 and twice in the Hypercar category, bringing invaluable endurance racing experience to the team’s prototype program.
