Born in Belgium, Jean-Jacques Smits is a Belgian racing driver who played a pivotal role in the early successes of W Racing Team (WRT). He competed in the Belgian Touring Car Series (BTCS), driving a Volkswagen Scirocco GT24 alongside teammate Ronnie Latinne. In April 2010, Smits and Latinne secured WRT's first-ever victory in the BTCS during the season opener at Circuit Zolder. This triumph marked the beginning of WRT's impressive journey in motorsport.
