#1 MECHANIC - GTP

The duties of the #1 Mechanic will include but not limited to: 

Responsibilities:

  • Support and lead preparation and maintenance of the GTP car before, during, and after race events
  • Coordinate and direct the mechanic crew in the garage and during pit stops  
  • Perform technical diagnostics, repairs, and setup adjustments to chassis, external powertrain, electronics, and aerodynamics components  
  • Ensure compliance with technical regulations, safety standards, and vehicle reliability requirements  
  • Work closely with engineers, drivers, and the Crew Chief to rapidly implement setup decisions  
  • Document work, faults, and changes (issue lists, service logs, checklists)  
  • Prepare and maintain tools, spare parts, and measurement equipment 
  • Manage inventory control  
  • Support testing, development runs, and technical meetings 
  • Attend briefings and debriefs; contribute to fault analysis and continuous improvemen

Skillset:

  • Completed training as an automotive mechatronics technician, vehicle mechanic, or comparable technical qualification  
  • Minimum 5–7 years of motorsport experience, ideally with DPI, LMP1, LMP2, GTE, or GTLM endurance cars (IMSA, WEC, or equivalent top series experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines, hybrid systems (if applicable), transmissions, suspension, brakes, electronics, and data analysis  
  • Experience with diagnostic systems, telemetry, and data evaluation  
  • Leadership experience or proven ability to lead a small team under high pressure conditions 
  • High resilience and flexibility (willingness to travel, work irregular hours, and attend race weekends)  
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under stress  
  • Fluent in English; German skills are a plus  
  • Valid driver’s license and U.S. work authorization/Green Card, or willingness to relocate with appropriate visa arrangements  
  • Team player with clear communication skills
