> The TCR Europe and TCR Benelux titles to be awarded at the season finale

The 2018 TCR Europe and TCR Benelux Series will come to an end this weekend at Barcelona-Catalunya’s Circuit, as driver Jean-Karl Vernay looks to clinch both European and Benelux crowns. Leopard Lukoil Team also in contention for the Benelux Team title despite its single-car entry drawback.

Both TCR Series arrive at Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit, which from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st will host the final rounds of the 2018 season. The Montmelo track, located about 30 km from the city centre, is divided into 5 left hand corners and 8 rights which alternate through the 4.7 km distance.

Coming off his impressive results in Monza, Jean-Karl Vernay will compete for the 2018 titles in the final event to be staged this weekend. The Leopard Lukoil Team driver sits second in both rankings despite missing the Zandvoort rounds due to the WTCR regulation. With a 19-points and a 4-points deficit against respectively Spaniard Mikel Azcona (TCR Europe) and Belgian Maxime Potty (TCR Benelux), the competition will be tense all weekend long. Hopefully, the 60 kg of ballast that the Audi RS3 LMS will have to carry-over, due to its past events performances, will not impede the French driver to compete with fair chances.

A long list of guest stars will join the TCR Europe field for the season finale at Barcelona: this includes the fellow WTCR competitor Norbert Michelisz amongst other TCR National drivers.
